Spanish American War Poliotical Cartoon Analysis

The issue that is present is the U.S. allowing other countries to enter the Philippines. I can see this because Russia and Britain are entering the Philippines. I think the cartoonist message is that the U.S. is allowing the other countries to spread their influence in the Philippines. I can tell this because they have their bags. Other people might think that British and Russian immigrants are coming to the Philippines. I can see this because the bags might represent the stuff the Russians or British people brought along with them. The author used labeling and symbolism. I can see this because the hats of the people who are coming through to the Philippines say what country they are representing and they also represent their country. This political cartoon supports my opinion on American imperialism because other countries influence could take control of the economy of the Philippines
